Join us to hear veteran foster parents Ben and Cynthia Baeder share their journey through trial and triumph. Ben will also share from his experience on the Los Angeles DCFS Director's Advisory Council, and his reporting on foster care as a journalist in LA county. RSVPs required.
Ben and Cynthia Baeder are adoptive parents of three former foster children who are now 14, 16, and 24 years old. They also raised one other foster son, Michael, who was eventually placed with a family member. Ben was formerly a member of the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services Director's Advisory Council. He also covered foster care as a reporter for the Medianews chain of newspapers in Los Angeles County. The Baeders first became foster parents in 2009. Ben is a land surveyor at Caltrans, and Cynthia was a public school teacher for 20 years.
Dinner will be served to adults.
Pizza and childcare will be provided for children ages 0-12.
Pizza and a Young Life ‘Hangout’ will be provided for teens.
This is a FREE event for families providing care for children through Strong Families, foster care, adoption, guardianship, and kinship placements.
